Open a year and we have our very first finalist for an Eva!

We are so very  please to announce our Construction department that has been open just a year is a finalist for an Eva.

Samantha Johnson, Emily Shorrock and Lisa Brady were all nominated for this prestigious award and each of them were absolutely thrilled.  After the first round of judging Samantha Johnson was a successful finalist in the “Employee of the Year” section.  Samantha then had to meet the judges via a zoom interview.  She was so very nervous but did brilliantly and breezed through the tough questions.

Samantha who has been with Perfect Recruitment almost five years joined the business within the Catering and Hospitality section.  With the aftermath of lockdown the business diversified in to the construction sector.  This not only gave the business an additional income stream it also safeguarded and created jobs.

We are all very excited for the 24th September and wish all the finalists good luck for the night! We are all booked in for tans, make up and Johnjoe has invested in a Tux!

Rosie Davis our new team member

Meet Rosie Davis our newest member of the team.  It has been yet another busy but fantastic few months at Perfect Construction. We have continued to grow, develop and bring in new contracts on both temporary staffing and permanent roles.   The team have developed some excellent working relationships through networking.  We have also launched our Commercial Cleaning offering with our first contract being secured in the Greater Manchester area.

The Construction desk based in the Chorley office has grown so much over the first year we have recruited a new consultant Rosie to join the team.   Rosie will be completing her Level 3 Business Admin apprenticeship whilst training to be a fully fledged Recruitment Consultant.  Rosie will also be assisting Sam on a day-to-day basis with fully interviewing potential new candidates, networking and also sales. We really look forward to watching Rosie grow in our construction sector.

We also have some more exciting news to share! Sam has been selected as a finalist in the Employee of the Year for the Enterprise Vision Awards  Both Emily and Lisa along with Sam were nominated.  However Sam herself has been shortlisted out of hundreds of applicants and being fully interviewed has made it to the final! Samantha has been with Perfect Recruitment since October 2017 and has progressed from Junior Resourcer within the Catering team to also running and growing our Construction sector!  We wish Sam the very best of luck and look forward to the awards evening on Friday 24th September. Perfect Construction has come on leaps and bounds!

Perfect Construction has come on leaps and bounds since setting up in July 2020!

2021 has started off positively with making our first permanent placement.  Not only the first placement for the construction division but our first European placement.  Since this placement we have picked up some amazing roles.  Some of these roles are from Chartered Structural Engineers to Project Managers. We are also working extremely hard behind the scenes to fill many vacancies for our clients.

Even though we are extremely busy we have not neglected our Networking!  We are attending at least one networking event a week. Also we are booking at least two 1-2-1 meetings with clients. We are now seeing a lot of referrals from people we have met at networking events. We have built some great relationships built on trust, this is fantastic for us and helps spread the name of Perfect Construction even further.  Using

Along with regular Networking Perfect Construction are building a social media presence on a range of channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram, with gaining over 200 followers on Instagram in 1 month. We hope to grow our following and post interesting content for all followers.

Sam, our Construction consultant has been named as a finalist for March’s “Women in Construction” awards by “Design and Build UK” After only 8 months in the Construction industry Sam is extremely proud that her hard work and dedication has been recognised!

Samantha Johnson March finalist in Women in Construction

March finalist in Women in Construction

This month we see Samantha Johnson construction consultant reach the March finalists in Women in Construction.  Created by the company

What a fabulous achievement.  Because behind the scenes Samantha has moved from an established catering desk in the middle of the pandemic to learn construction.  Not an easy task on its own!

She has also built her database up to 173 clients since July.

Regularly attending networking events and always achieve 2 one to ones as her target.
Without fail she takes calls at 6am from labourers not going in to work that morning.  Many excuses car broken down or sickness, Samantha hits the phone and the database to cover those issues.

Also working till 10pm at night registering candidates to go on site the following day so not to let the client down.

Samantha GOES THE EXTRA MILE for all our clients and candidates.
Not to forget she has also made a permanent placement in France!

But most of all the revenue from this desk has enabled the business to survive for a year allowing Perfect Recruitment Ltd to hold on to its team!

Sam never shy’s away from a challenge!

Samantha says “being voted for March finalist in Women in Construction is a huge achievement I am so proud of what we have accomplished”

National Careers Week – 1st to 6th March 2021

National Careers Week.  Of the 154 schools and colleges in the Lancashire Careers Hub, around 20 are currently without an Enterprise Adviser.  Young people need that critical support to help them move from the world of education to work.  Offering links you can help schools build with local business and employers is invaluable.

So how can you help?

During National Careers week we have scheduled an hour to help.   From 12-1pm on Tuesday the 2nd March for a “working lunch” zoom call entitled Bring a buddy & #ReWriteTheStory.  Where we need you to think through your list of friends, colleagues, business associates, etc.  Who do you know who may be interested in becoming an Enterprise Adviser?  Bring them along to this call.  There is no pressure to sign up or make a commitment, it is just a chance for them to hear from current Enterprise Advisers and learn about the role and what the Careers Hub is doing. But this will only work if you/we can bring these new people to the table.

Whilst we still have gaps across Lancashire, our two main priority areas are for North Lancs (Lancaster and Morecambe) as well as Central Lancs (Preston, Leyland and Chorley). So everybody is welcome who wishes to join the network, but extra bonus points if you can help us in these key areas…

If you know someone who would like to come along and learn a bit more, please share this survey link with them which takes less than a minute to complete so the meeting details can be sent across. If you are attending the meeting with them then please also fill in your details so we can invite you as well.
